Vooropleiding traject bij DSOPM

The Preparatory Course of the Dutch School of Popular Music takes place every Saturday in Q-Factory-Amsterdam, Atlantisplein 1 in Amsterdam. During the intake day at the beginning of the school year, an intake is held on the basis of the A-MACK system with all candidates to determine their singing or playing level and to discuss the personal goals, so that everyone has the right lessons and teacher is placed. There are no specific admission requirements and there is no need for an audition. The entire package of the Preparatory Course consists of an individual lesson of 45 minutes, a band lesson of an hour and a half and 45 minutes of theory lessons, all on the same day. But a combination of these lessons or a single lesson is also possible. In addition, you can choose to take a side course or a singer-songwriting course, Vocal Harmony, or a production course (Logic, Ableton), both individually and in groups. Individual lessons can also be taken on weekdays.

Students from the Preparatory Course are closely monitored via the A-MACK system developed by Jack Pisters (www.amack.nl). During the intake day and after each of the three periods in total, meetings take place between student and teacher to keep track of the student's progress and to prepare a new lesson plan for the coming period. With the help of a theory test, theoretical knowledge is tested and it is determined whether a student is on the right track for their audition, for example, and whether a student could make the transition to the next group. There is also a meeting with the teachers team and new classifications are made for the bands. We work with the individual wishes and goals of the different students and have a diverse team of teachers to respond to everything as well as possible.
