Pianolessen bij Cleary Piano Lessons
At Cleary Piano Lessons, children receive individual piano lessons in a warm, home-like studio in Amsterdam Oud-West, just a short walk from the Vondelpark. Lessons are taught by Lorcan, a classical pianist, giving students the benefit of a solid technical foundation and clear musical guidance. The atmosphere is calm, friendly, and structured, designed to help children feel relaxed while also encouraging steady, meaningful progress.
Students can explore a wide variety of musical styles. While my own background is rooted in classical piano, children are also welcome to learn pop music, movie soundtracks, and other enjoyable pieces that keep them excited about practising. This blend of structure and creativity helps each child find their own musical voice.
The lessons focus on four main pillars of development:
• Reading music and rhythm – understanding notation, timing, and musical patterns.
• Technique and posture – establishing healthy habits that support expressive, confident playing.
• Motivating repertoire – classical, pop, and film music chosen to match the student’s level and interests.
• Confidence and independence – building musical understanding, expression, and curiosity.
All lessons are weekly, one-on-one, and fully tailored to the child’s needs, level, and personality. Each student receives access to a private student portal, which includes practice notes, lesson summaries, sheet music, and extra support materials. This makes progress clear for both students and parents.
Although I speak Dutch at B1 level, lessons are taught in English to ensure clarity and consistency. Children generally adapt very quickly to learning music in English.
Cleary Piano Lessons is an official collaboration partner of Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Amsterdam, meaning that lesson costs can be (partially) reimbursed for families who qualify. My aim is to make piano lessons accessible, enjoyable, and inspiring for every child who walks through the door.
