BrassBand Lessons With RITMO

Ritmo Youth: be together, create together, grow together.

At Ritmo you learn to drum and play in a real Caribbean brass band. Every Monday from 18:30 to 19:45 you practise in our clubhouse in Amsterdam Zuidoost, together with young people from the neighbourhood, led by musicians with fifteen years of stage experience.

Be together: you become part of the Ritmo family and learn the history of the brass band, from Aruba and Curaçao to Suriname and Amsterdam.

Create together: you practise with the group every week and learn the rhythms and songs of a real brass band, step by step.

Grow together: we look after you, not just your rhythm. Discipline, teamwork and confidence are part of it.

Everyone aged 12 to 18 is welcome, with or without experience. Need extra support? We make sure you get the right guidance. You can join at any time during the year.

Start: Monday 19 October 2026, until the end of May 2027. 24 lessons. With a Stadspas, the Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Amsterdam pays for your lessons.
