Ballet voor kinderen (6-10 jaar)
The lessons are carefully structured and tailored to each child’s motor skills and world of experience. Ballet technique is taught step by step, with as much precision and correctness as possible. Previously learned material is continually reinforced to build a strong and solid foundation. Levels 1A and 1B form the transition from pre-ballet to classical ballet. In Levels 2A and 2B, ballet technique is further developed and increasingly made the dancer’s own.
Classes consist of exercises on the floor, at the mirror, and across the studio. In Levels 2A and 2B, students also work at the barre. Especially with younger children, improvisation assignments are an important part of the lessons.
Enjoyment of dance and discipline go hand in hand in our children’s classes. Children with exceptional talent for dance are prepared for the audition for the pre-professional program of the Dutch National Ballet Academy.
Levels by age (as of September):
- Level 1A: children who are 6 years old
- Level 1B: children who are 7 years old
- Level 2A: children who are 8 years old
- Level 2B: children who are 9 years old
For beginners who join at a later stage or for particularly talented students, age requirements may be adjusted.
From Level 1B, it is possible to attend classes twice a week.
